Look what people are saying

This week, we were graced by the presence of a wonderful vocalist, Meegan Coleman, who was blowing through town from New York. Meegan had been sending me notes all week, warning me that she'd be showing up. Usually, that's a BAD sign. Not in this case, however. Meegan led the "sitters in" through a couple of spirited tunes. Her well trained voice was quite easy on the ear and a welcome change from the status quo. Come by again any time, Meegan! - Brian Swartz of The Gnu Sextet, Los Angeles, CA.

"The band's guitar work is their forte and second is their cover of Duran Duran's tune "Come Undone" sung by Paganini and Meegan Coleman whose voicing has a similarity to Liz Phair and Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley. The tune opens with a series of low bellowing bass notes and travels into grinding guitar tapping and brisk drumming. Coleman's femininely uplifting tones have the effect of taming the beast beside her." - GarageRadio.com review of Meegan's session work with rock band, Silent Fate.

"I received the cd “I Hear Music” by Meegan Samantha Coleman this week. There are some really nice tracks here. I especially enjoy her version of “Cry Me A River”. I hope you guys enjoy it. Check out her MySpace page and let her know what you think. http://www.myspace.com/meegansamanthacoleman "

"I aired “Tea for Two” on “Jazz Straightahead” today—a great song after all those years and your rendition is both technically and artistically compelling. Just the right level of seductiveness and playfulness (and musicianship) without being cutesy. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the album.
More later as I send out the playlists. I plan to air more tracks from your album in subsequent weeks. Thanks for sending it to us." -
Cary Meister (“Doc Jazz”), Jazz Music Director, KAWC-FM  88.9 mHz - Yuma, Arizona

"Hi Meegan. Just wanted to let you know that I received your cd. I am really enjoying it and will definitely add a few tracks to the station. Great choice of songs. Love your control and the scatting is dead-on. I also wanted to compliment the graphics and art direction. Everything from the photography to the look of the cd itself is very nice." - William Patton, http://www.live365.com/stations/eveningmelancholy

"Congratulations! Your new CD is first-rate: stylish singing, great musicianship - -and some wonderful tunes from the Great American Songbook. We'll certainly be giving it some spins here at WRHU." - Bob Collins, The Jazz Cafe WRHU - Hempstead, N.Y.

"WOW this was a wonderful cd. Fantastic musicians and love the slightly different rhythms. Nice choice of tunes, that made it very hard deciding on what to air first. I will change the tunes out after a few weeks. I'll let you know if they get rated by the listeners. This will be up and running in about 1 hour on Live365.com. Tune in http://www.live365.com/stations/bigbadbrenda" - Bigbadbrenda, Live365.com

"I received your CD in the post yesterday in time to get a track, "Chega de Saudade" on Fresh Cuts (my Monday PM Edition for new releases). You have an incredible, classic jazz voice that serves the music so well but retains its individuality" - Jeffrey Jones, music director, WOJB - Hayward, Wisconsin.

"I Hear Music is the greatest thing I've ever heard. It brings hope and joy to my meaningless life." - Steven Goode
